Sei Network has confirmed airdropping its SEI tokens for the testnet validators and participants. Season 2 airdrop was completed on 16th May 2024 and 44,445 unique addresses received 34,435,600 SEI! Meanwhile, Season 3 is expected to happen anytime soon! In this article, we will explain what Sei Network is and what you can do to position yourself for the $SEI airdrop.

    Check out our video guide!

    Some SURPRISE airdrops are coming!

    What is Sei Network?

Sei Network is a layer-1 blockchain built with the Cosmos SDK, and is designed to become the preferred chain for decentralized exchanges (DEXs) in DeFi, NFTs, and GameFi. The blockchain is optimized to enhance the functionality of exchanges and provide the best user experience for their customers. They achieve this by incorporating a native order matching engine that enables DEXs built on the blockchain to be on par with centralized exchanges (CEXs) in terms of executing orders. As a result, the end users can trade tokens, NFTs, and in-game items much faster and at minimal cost.

    Sei Network Ecosystem

In October 2022, Sei Network launched a $50 million Ecosystem and Liquidity Fund to support the development of new applications and help teams bootstrap liquidity going into mainnet launch. The fund was backed by some of the top venture capital firms such as Multicoin Capital and Delphi Digital. As of now, there are more than 50 projects building on the ecosystem, ranging from infrastructure to fiat on/off ramps.

Who is the Team behind Sei Network?

Jeffrey Feng and Jayendra Jog are the co-founders of Sei Network, which has a team of skilled professionals with previous work experience at renowned organizations like Airbnb and Goldman Sachs. The team is now raising Series A funding at a $400 million token valuation, according to The Block.

Does Sei Network have a Token?

Yes, Sei Network is planning to launch their $SEI token. The SEI token has several features on the Sei network including paying network fees, staking, governance, used as collateral, for tipping validators and trading fees.

3% of the total SEI token supply will be allocated to the first rewards pool, known as ‘Season 1’. This means that there is a good chance that there will be an airdrop for Season 2!

How to receive season 2 $SEI Airdrop?

The best way to receive $SEI airdrop is to interact with the Seinami Incentivized Testnet. Within the testnet, there are 4 unique acts (currently closed) consisting of various tasks to complete. These tasks are designed to stress test Sei’s validator usability and security. Each completed task awards points, which directly correspond to your $SEI token rewards. Once the testnet period is finished, the token rewards will be distributed according to the tallied scores of all validators and participants. The Seinami Testnet missions in order to receive a potential airdrop can be found here. A lot of these require technical skills, e.g. to try hacking into their exchange, which might prove to be difficult.

However, Act 4 had several missions which involve growing the Sei ecosystem and simulating real-world trading. These tasks are easier to complete in order to get a Sei airdrop.

Here is a step by step guide on how to get the Sei testnet airdrop.

    • Place limit order on Vortex (long or short and in any market).
    • Place market order on Vortex (long or short in any market).
    • Place multiple Long/Short orders in one transaction (i.e. a bundled order placement) in any market.
    • Get liquidated on Vortex.
    • Refer a friend to sign up for Sei.
    • Get your friend to refer another on Sei.
    • Note that for tasks 1-4, it is not enough to just do the task. Users must also submit their transaction details and wallet address to the team for verification. There is also a cap on how many submissions users can do in one day. Check here for full details.
    • All 4 Seinami Testnet Missions are closed. However, you can still mint Sei Sunken Treasure NFTs until 23rd April 2023. To do this, go to https://seinetwork.io/treasure and connect your Keplr wallet. Then, do at least 25 transactions on the Atlantic-2 testnet. Afterwards, send gifts to other users. Finally, claim your NFT.
    • If you are eligible, register 1 .sei domain name.

How to get the Sei Foundation ($SEI) season 3 airdrop

Here is a guide on how to get the potential Sei Foundation ($SEI) season 3 airdrop. Note that these steps are based on experiences from the Season 2 eligibility criteria and are speculation only.

    1. Buy NFTs from Pallet Exchange

Go to Pallet Exchange and buy 3 NFTs. Based on the season 2 airdrop, only NFTs from the top 8 collections were eligible for the airdrop. So, we suggest you only buy from the top NFT collections on Pallet Exchange such as Cappys, Seiyans, Fuckers or WeBump.

    2. Stake $SEI

Stake 100 $SEI on: (1) Silo for iSEI; (2) Krptonite for stSEI; and (3) Sei.

    3. Use DragonSwap

Go to DragonSwap and swap $SEI for some other tokens. Then, go to Pools, choose a pool and create a position worth at least US$100. We suggest creating a position in the iSEI/SEI pool as you would have some iSEI from step 2 above.

    4. Use Jellyverse

Go to Jellyverse and swap $SEI to other tokens. Then, go to Pools and create a position worth at least US$100. We suggest creating a position in the fastUSD/USDC pool since it is more stable. However, you can also choose pools that have a high APR.

    5. Swap tokens on Yaka Finance

Go to Yaka Finance and swap $SEI to other tokens.

    6. Supply and borrow on Yei Finance

Connect to Yei Finance and click “Wrap/Unwrap SEI” on the top right hand corner. Swap SEI to WSEI tokens. Then, go to “Markets”, and supply and borrow WSEI.

    7. Buy memecoins

Go to Dex Screener and find some Sei memecoins. Buy around US$20 each of some coins. You can consider buying Milli Coin ($MILLI), Chip$ ($CHIPS), Seiyan ($SEIYAN), Shenron ($SHENRN) or Popo the Cat ($POPO).

    Airdrop Review

When reviewing an airdrop, there are several factors to consider. First, the likelihood the project will even do an airdrop in the first place. Then, to look at how many tokens the project intends to allocate towards airdrop campaigns, as well as the difficulty in participating in their airdrop. It is also important to look at the utility of the token so that there will be an actual use and purpose in participating in the airdrop in the first place. Finally, a factor to consider when reviewing an airdrop is whether the airdropped tokens are subject to any lockup period.

Likelihood of Airdrop: Sei has confirmed they will do an airdrop after the mainnet launch in the coming months.

Airdropped Token Allocation: 3% of the total $SEI supply will be airdropped in season 1.

Airdrop Difficulty: Some of the Seinami Testnet validator tasks are quite difficult as they require technical skills. Try completing the easier participant tasks first.

Token Utility: The SEI token has several functions on the Sei network, including paying network fees, staking, governance, collateral, tipping validators, and trading fees.

Token Lockup: There is no lockup period for the airdropped tokens.

  • Quasar ($QSR) Token Airdrop Guide: LIVE NOW!

Quasar ($QSR) Token Airdrop Guide: LIVE NOW!

Quasar is set to launch its mainnet on 23rd March 2023. Its $QSR token launch is confirmed and users of the current testnet can qualify for the airdrop. In this article, we will explain what Quasar is and what you can do to position for the airdrop.

    Quasar ($QSR) Airdrop Step-by-step Guide

Here’s how to receive a potential Quasar ($QSR) token airdrop:

    1. Connect Keplr Wallet to Quasar Testnet
    2. Claim Testnet Tokens from Faucet
    3. Bond Testnet Tokens to the Orion Vault

    See below for more details

    What is Quasar?

Quasar is a specialized capital management blockchain within the Cosmos ecosystem, set to launch its first product: an IBC-integrated, multi-vault strategic investment platform. This development fills a gap in the Cosmos ecosystem, which currently lacks a vault protocol. By utilizing Quasar, users can access yields from every IBC-compatible blockchain.

With Quasar, liquidity providers (LPs) can select a vault for depositing their tokens via single-sided asset staking, receiving enhanced yield returns compared to depositing LP tokens in traditional liquidity pools. Each Quasar vault embodies a distinct strategy executed through an automated workflow. Vaults will cover various services, such as generating yields and offering collateralized loans, while also extending their focus to other ecosystems and blockchain networks.

    Project Funding

In February 2023, Quasar successfully raised $6 million in a seed funding round led by prominent investment firms Polychain Capital and Blockchain Capital, with participation from some of the top builders and investors in the Cosmos ecosystem such as Figment, Lightshift Capital, Galileo, Binary, HashCIB, Sunny Aggarwal of Osmosis and Evra, the founding team behind Evmos.

What is the Quasar ($QSR) token?

Yes, Quasar confirmed in its document that they are launching the $QSR native token for the Quasar chain. It will be used for proof-of-stake security via Tendermint Consensus Algorithm. Additionally, $QSR enables full self-governance, granting the community decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) authority to shape the future direction of vault strategies and the treasury. Transaction fees on Quasar will also be paid in $QSR.

    How to Receive $QSR Airdrop?

Quasar has hinted in their Discord channel that they may be doing an airdrop. In particular, the airdrop will reward testnet participants. Here’s how to receive a potential $QSR airdrop:

Interact with the Quasar Public Testnet to be eligible for the $QSR airdrop in the future. Here’s a step-by-step guide:

    1. Connect Keplr Wallet to Quasar Testnet

Go to testnet.quasar.fi and connect your Keplr wallet. Switch the network to Quasar Testnet.

    2. Claim Testnet Tokens from Faucet

You can claim $QSR, $OSMO, and $AYY test tokens at stakely.io/en/faucet/quasar-testnet.

    3. Bond Testnet Tokens to the Orion Vault

Once you have your test tokens, click on “Explore Vault”. Then, bond your assets and approve the deposit.

This action locks your tokens within the Vault, and you’ll receive proportional shares as CW-20 tokens unique to that vault. Once your assets reach the Osmosis Testnet chain, they will be automatically distributed into yield-generating AMM pools. You can monitor the progress of the liquidity provider strategy through the vault data dashboard.

    4. Submit Bug Report

If you found any bug, submit your wallet address at the Quasar Testnet Form. They might send you some $ATOM if the bug report is new to them.

    5. Become a Validator on Questnet

You can also join the Quasar Testnet as a validator if you already have Quasar binary running and your node is fully synced. Visit their guide for more details.

Likelihood of Airdrop: Quasar confirmed it will airdrop $QSR to testnet users.

Airdropped Token Allocation: They have not disclosed their tokenomics yet.

Airdrop Difficulty: The tasks are very easy to complete. Simply connect your Keplr wallet and bond your testnet tokens to the Orion Vault.

Token Utility: $QSR will be utilized for proof-of-stake security through the Tendermint Consensus Algorithm while enabling full self-governance, allowing the community DAO authority to steer vault strategies and treasury management.

    Token Lockup: TBD

  • China’s Cosmos and ChainLink Plan

    China’s Cosmos and ChainLink Plan

China has asked for guidance from the teams behind Cosmos and ChainLink for their Blockchain Service Network (BSN), it was revealed last month. Researchers have called upon both companies to aid their development of the BSN, which was launched alongside their Digital Currency Electronic Payment (DCEP) in April 2020, to help them build out a “service hub” which would form the bedrock of its “internet of blockchains.”

    Learn more about ChainLink ($LINK).

SmartContract and Iris Foundation join BSN Development

According to reports, SmartContract, the group behind the Chainlink oracle network, will aid the BSN team in the sourcing of reliable information. Their Dapp services, potentially on Hyperledger, could allow for a cohesive and more streamline to access information.

Yifan He, BSN expert and CEO of Beijing Red Date Technology, spoke on the ChainLink addition, saying the partnership between the two, will give access to outside data from many Chinese companies, such as financial transaction information from China Union Pay, something difficult to obtain and analyze in the first place. This would then allow for BSN users to access “outside data such as stock prices and financial transactions.”

On the other hand, Iris Foundation Ltd., the company who uses the Cosmos network to integrate businesses using interchain services, will work on interoperability for the network. He described their addition as allowing for “cross-chain services between blockchains adapted in the network.”

Both companies appear to know what the State Information Center and China Mobile/China Union Pay backed BSN needs in their attempts to create a worldwide blockchain infrastructure.

And it seems they have a good chance of pulling it off as the government backing allows greater alliances and interconnectivity between the important players. One of these players and a team that looks integral to the future research is ChainLink.

    ChainLink suits BSN

The chance to be part of a huge project was something ChainLink’s co founder and SmartContract CEO Sergey Nazarov, couldn’t miss. Explaining how the BSN might use his company, the co-founder said: “Chainlink provides the blockchain abstraction layer or secure blockchain middleware that enable dapp developers to create universally connected smart contracts.”

Google, through its Google Cloud uses ChainLink for a similar function as he BSN, Nazarov explained. “What BSN really cares about, much like the people we’ve worked with from Google, is this type of contract that allows blockchains to access external off-chain data,” Nazarov stated.

The need is made even greater as blockchain can’t be directly applied to application programming interfaces (APIs) and only universally connected smart contracts can create the connection and allow for off chain data.

This use case is especially needed, Nazarov claimed, for global financial product or insurance, as the contracts must have external data and ensure goods and services are delivered, which needs the universally connected contracts.

The usage of ChainLink and their services are set to continue as Nazarov told CoinDesk, “Chainlink’s technology suits BSN’s vision because the network includes multiple chains that are also supported by (his) team.”

BSN starts to build for future

Since its launch in April, the BSN has been announcing a number of partnerships with experts in the blockchain field. For example, around the initial launch the research team confirmed the plans to adapt Ethereum and EOS public blockchains into the BSN system.

A target area has been cross chain services with Polkadot one of a number of companies earmarked for positions on the interchain service. “We plan to have at least four different interchain service technical frameworks developers can choose from in the hub,” He said.

“The interchain service hub is one of the three critical parts for the national blockchain infrastructure”, He continued adding that enterprise and public blockchains into the network were the other key fields.

Despite not being finalised, the network is already proving popular. ”We have been on-boarding two to three public chains every month on average, while adapting consortium chains at a slower pace since it usually takes longer to integrate them with the network,” He claimed.

However, not all blockchain developers  are pleased with the creation of the network, with some developers worried about their data being stolen as well as other privacy concerns. The BSN looked to quell the fears in their recent technical white paper, but there is cause for concern considering the nations stringent Internet laws.
