Is the Quasar QSR airdrop still claimable?
No. The Quasar QSR testnet airdrop is over. Quasar opened its first airdrop wave on 30 November 2023 with a 30-day claim window. It allocated 10,245,750 QSR to approximately 2,157 addresses that had completed at least three vault-related transactions on the pre-mainnet testnet by 10 March 2023. Unclaimed tokens were set to return to the community pool after the deadline.
Completing the archived testnet tasks below cannot create new eligibility. The old testnet, faucet, bug-report form and validator campaign are obsolete, and no legitimate service can add a wallet to the historical snapshot. Do not pay a “reactivation” fee or connect a wallet to a third-party QSR claim page.

What happened to Quasar and QSR?
Quasar did launch rather than remaining a testnet-only project. Its Cosmos appchain went live on 23 March 2023, and QSR launched in July 2023 with an original maximum supply of one billion. QSR was used for staking, governance, gas and vault-related incentives. The project also launched production vaults on Osmosis and distributed QSR incentives.
The airdrop promise in the original article was ultimately fulfilled, but later and more narrowly than the guide implied. A July 2023 tokenomics post said a community airdrop was subject to on-chain governance. The approved first wave rewarded only testnet addresses meeting the transaction threshold. Quasar described two more proposed waves for users of PRO and concentrated-liquidity vaults, with their allocations dependent on later governance; the first-wave announcement did not guarantee their size or completion.
In 2024, Quasar pivoted away from its Cosmos chain and proposed migrating QSR holders to a future EVM token. A snapshot was taken on 2 October 2024, protocol-owned QSR liquidity was removed, and QSR became a legacy token. The team warned that buying QSR after the snapshot would not create migration eligibility and that moving or selling an eligible balance could reduce or disqualify its eventual allocation.
By February 2025, the official migration update said Quasar had reached its “final destination,” existing products were being wound down and the chain was preparing to stop. The successor project, Tower, planned a Babylon-based DEX and a future TWR token. The same update said TWR would not launch until a later Babylon stage and that final tokenomics were still unfinished.
Did QSR migrate to TWR?
Boxmining found no official record of a completed QSR-to-TWR token distribution. Tower's February 2025 launch article explicitly said TWR was not live. Tower did launch its BabyDEX and a points campaign, but it later announced that Tower itself was winding down. Its final reported distribution used BABY tokens for eligible Tower Point holders; it was not presented as the promised QSR-to-TWR conversion.
This distinction matters. An old migration balance displayed by Quasar was only a record of proposed eligibility, not proof that a replacement token had been issued. A similarly named TWR asset on an exchange or another chain should not be assumed to be Quasar's successor token. There are unrelated crypto tokens and a publicly traded insurer using the TWR ticker.
What should QSR holders do now?
- Do not buy QSR expecting to qualify for the old migration. The official snapshot was 2 October 2024.
- Do not use the archived airdrop link or testnet instructions. The Wave 1 claim window closed in December 2023.
- Do not accept an unsolicited “manual migration,” recovery or TWR swap offered in a direct message.
- Never give a seed phrase to Quasar, Tower, a validator or a support account.
- If you still have assets associated with an old vault or the Quasar chain, first confirm the balance on-chain and use only authenticated project support. The February 2025 notice warned that infrastructure maintenance would eventually end, so do not assume the old interface can still withdraw.
- Keep screenshots and transaction hashes for any historical QSR balance or vault position. They may help document a support request, but they do not create a legal or technical claim to TWR.
- Treat displayed QSR prices as unreliable unless an exact pool has meaningful reserves and recent swaps. A legacy token can retain a wallet quote even when it is not practically tradable.

Quasar is set to launch its mainnet on 23rd March 2023. Its $QSR token launch is confirmed and users of the current testnet can qualify for the airdrop. In this article, we will explain what Quasar is and what you can do to position for the airdrop.
Quasar ($QSR) Airdrop Step-by-step Guide
Here’s how to receive a potential Quasar ($QSR) token airdrop:
- Connect Keplr Wallet to Quasar Testnet
- Claim Testnet Tokens from Faucet
- Bond Testnet Tokens to the Orion Vault
See below for more details
What is Quasar?
Quasar is a specialized capital management blockchain within the Cosmos ecosystem, set to launch its first product: an IBC-integrated, multi-vault strategic investment platform. This development fills a gap in the Cosmos ecosystem, which currently lacks a vault protocol. By utilizing Quasar, users can access yields from every IBC-compatible blockchain.
With Quasar, liquidity providers (LPs) can select a vault for depositing their tokens via single-sided asset staking, receiving enhanced yield returns compared to depositing LP tokens in traditional liquidity pools. Each Quasar vault embodies a distinct strategy executed through an automated workflow. Vaults will cover various services, such as generating yields and offering collateralized loans, while also extending their focus to other ecosystems and blockchain networks.
Project Funding
In February 2023, Quasar successfully raised $6 million in a seed funding round led by prominent investment firms Polychain Capital and Blockchain Capital, with participation from some of the top builders and investors in the Cosmos ecosystem such as Figment, Lightshift Capital, Galileo, Binary, HashCIB, Sunny Aggarwal of Osmosis and Evra, the founding team behind Evmos.
What is the Quasar ($QSR) token?
Yes, Quasar confirmed in its document that they are launching the $QSR native token for the Quasar chain. It will be used for proof-of-stake security via Tendermint Consensus Algorithm. Additionally, $QSR enables full self-governance, granting the community decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) authority to shape the future direction of vault strategies and the treasury. Transaction fees on Quasar will also be paid in $QSR.
How to Receive $QSR Airdrop?
Quasar has hinted in their Discord channel that they may be doing an airdrop. In particular, the airdrop will reward testnet participants. Here’s how to receive a potential $QSR airdrop:
Interact with the Quasar Public Testnet to be eligible for the $QSR airdrop in the future. Here’s a step-by-step guide:
- Connect Keplr Wallet to Quasar Testnet
Go to testnet.quasar.fi and connect your Keplr wallet. Switch the network to Quasar Testnet.
- Claim Testnet Tokens from Faucet
You can claim $QSR, $OSMO, and $AYY test tokens at stakely.io/en/faucet/quasar-testnet.
- Bond Testnet Tokens to the Orion Vault
Once you have your test tokens, click on “Explore Vault”. Then, bond your assets and approve the deposit.
This action locks your tokens within the Vault, and you’ll receive proportional shares as CW-20 tokens unique to that vault. Once your assets reach the Osmosis Testnet chain, they will be automatically distributed into yield-generating AMM pools. You can monitor the progress of the liquidity provider strategy through the vault data dashboard. - Submit Bug Report
If you found any bug, submit your wallet address at the Quasar Testnet Form. They might send you some $ATOM if the bug report is new to them.
- Become a Validator on Questnet
You can also join the Quasar Testnet as a validator if you already have Quasar binary running and your node is fully synced. Visit their guide for more details.
Airdrop Review
When reviewing an airdrop, there are several factors to consider. First, the likelihood the project will even do an airdrop in the first place. Then, to look at how many tokens the project intends to allocate towards airdrop campaigns, as well as the difficulty in participating in their airdrop. It is also important to look at the utility of the token so that there will be an actual use and purpose in participating in the airdrop in the first place. Finally, a factor to consider when reviewing an airdrop is whether the airdropped tokens are subject to any lockup period.
Likelihood of Airdrop: Quasar confirmed it will airdrop $QSR to testnet users.
Airdropped Token Allocation: They have not disclosed their tokenomics yet.
Airdrop Difficulty: The tasks are very easy to complete. Simply connect your Keplr wallet and bond your testnet tokens to the Orion Vault.
Token Utility: $QSR will be utilized for proof-of-stake security through the Tendermint Consensus Algorithm while enabling full self-governance, allowing the community DAO authority to steer vault strategies and treasury management.
Token Lockup: TBD
Frequently asked questions
Can I still claim the Quasar QSR airdrop?
No. Wave 1 opened on 30 November 2023 with a 30-day claim window. The archived testnet tasks cannot create eligibility or reopen the claim.
Who qualified for the QSR testnet airdrop?
Quasar said Wave 1 covered about 2,157 addresses that completed at least three vault-related transactions on its testnet by 10 March 2023.
How much QSR was allocated to the first airdrop?
The approved first wave allocated 10,245,750 QSR from the community pool. Unclaimed tokens were scheduled to return to that pool after the 30-day claim period.
Is Quasar Finance still active?
No as an operating vault protocol. Quasar announced that its products and Cosmos chain were winding down, deprecated its vaults and redirected its website toward the successor Tower project.
Is QSR still a live token?
QSR remains as an on-chain legacy token, but Quasar removed protocol-owned liquidity and said it was no longer tradable on exchanges. A wallet price does not prove there is usable liquidity.
What was the QSR migration snapshot date?
The official migration update used 2 October 2024. It said QSR acquired after that date did not qualify for the proposed successor-token migration.
Did QSR holders receive TWR?
Boxmining found no official record of a completed QSR-to-TWR distribution. Tower said in February 2025 that TWR was not live, and Tower subsequently announced its own wind-down.
Was the BABY distribution the QSR migration?
No. Tower described its final BABY relief distribution as an allocation to eligible Tower Point holders. It was not announced as the QSR-to-TWR conversion.
Can I complete the old Quasar testnet tasks now?
No. The old testnet, faucet, form and validator campaign are obsolete. Any site charging to restore testnet eligibility should be treated as fraudulent.
How can I recover assets left in a Quasar vault?
First verify the position and transaction history on-chain, then use only authenticated Quasar support channels. Do not trust direct messages or pay an upfront recovery fee; old infrastructure may no longer support withdrawals.
