Photon PTON Airdrop Status 2026: No Claim or TGE Verified

Can you claim the Photon PTON airdrop?

No legitimate PTON claim is currently verifiable. Photon officially promoted PTON rewards during its 2024 incentivized testnets, so the original article's “confirmed” wording reflected the campaign material available at the time. However, Boxmining found no published token-generation event, mainnet PTON contract, token allocation, eligibility checker, claim contract or distribution date as of 13 August 2026. The old Galxe quest is marked expired and the campaign pages on photonchain.io no longer exist.

The 10 PTON claimed from the faucet and the PTON staked in the old guide were testnet units with no monetary value. A balance on a custom test network was not a mainnet token allocation and did not itself guarantee an eventual airdrop. Do not buy a token merely because it uses the PTON ticker, and do not pay a “claim,” “activation” or “unlock” fee.

What changed after the Photon Supernova testnet?

Photon's April 2024 website described a builder-friendly Bitcoin Layer 2 using BVM for execution and Celestia for data availability. The roadmap cited parallel execution in Q3 2024. Later campaigns materially changed that positioning:

The Aurora testnet continued to use an EVM-compatible custom network and PTON faucet tokens.
A later campaign presented Photon Labs as a Bitcoin-first application layer rather than simply a BVM/Celestia L2.
The project subsequently tested PBTC—described as a Bitcoin representation for Solana—and promoted cross-chain Bitcoin collateral and rehypothecation.
In 2025, the official social account said the testnet would be redeployed as “Photon V3” and that off-chain points would be preserved.

These were project announcements and testnet activities, not proof of a production protocol or PTON distribution. Boxmining could not independently verify completion of the old Q3 2024 scaling roadmap, a public V3 mainnet or a live PBTC product in August 2026. The current domain's 404 response also prevents users from confirming contracts, terms, audits or redemption mechanics through an official documentation site.

Was the Photon airdrop really confirmed?

The most accurate answer is: the team officially promised PTON incentives, but fulfillment is not verified. The archived Photon website labeled its navigation “Join Airdrop.” The later official Galxe description told users that engagement would “secure” a PTON airdrop. That supports calling the reward promise official, rather than merely community speculation.

It does not establish that a token was created or that every participant acquired an enforceable right to tokens. Testnet campaigns can be changed, cancelled, delayed or made subject to later anti-sybil and eligibility rules. Because no final distribution record was found, this page no longer describes the airdrop as claimable or recommends performing the old tasks.

How to check a future PTON announcement safely

Require an announcement from the established Photon Labs social account and corroboration on a restored official website or documentation domain.
Look for a complete contract address, supported chain, audited claim contract, tokenomics, eligibility rules and exact dates. A ticker or token logo is not enough.
Check whether the claimed contract has verifiable deployment history and whether reputable explorers and independent market trackers map it to the same project.
Use a fresh low-value wallet if testing an unfamiliar dapp. Never expose the wallet that holds long-term assets.
Read every signature. A genuine eligibility check normally does not require unlimited token approvals, a seed phrase, a private key or a remote-control session.
Revoke permissions granted to old Photon campaign applications if they are no longer needed. Disconnecting a site in the wallet is not the same as revoking on-chain approvals.

Do not confuse PTON with other Photon projects

“Photon” is used by several unrelated crypto products. The PHOTON fee token on the AtomOne network, the Photon memecoin-trading interface on Solana, PhotonSwap and tokens named PHTN or PHOTON are not evidence that Photon Labs launched PTON. The project covered here used the PTON ticker for testnet gas and was associated with photonchain.io and @Photon_Labs. No official mainnet address was available to authenticate a tradable PTON token.

Connect your wallet and Twitter to the Photon Supernova Incentivised Testnet.
Add Photon testnet to wallet
Add the Photon testnet chain to your MetaMask wallet. To add Photon testnet, click the logo on the top left hand side and “+ Add network”. On the pop up window, click “Add a network manually”. Then, input the Network name, RPC URL, Chain ID, Currency Symbol and Block explorer URL as provided on the Photon Supernova Incentivised Tesnet page.
Claim testnet tokens
On the Photon Supernova Incentivised Tesnet page, click “Claim 10 PTON” to get your testnet tokens. Note you can do this once every 24 hours.
Stake PTON
Click “Stake 5 PTON” to automatically stake 5 PTON. Note there is a 7 day lockup period. You can return to this page afterwards to claim your PTON rewards.
Invite friends
Invite friends to Photon, you will get 100 points for referrals and 50 points for sub-referrals.
Complete Galxe tasks
Connect your wallet to the Photon Galxe page. Complete the social tasks such as following Photon on Twitter and getting the Photonian role on their Discord. Did Photon confirm a PTON airdrop?

How can I avoid a fake PTON claim?
