How to get the ether.fi ($ETHFI) token airdrop
Contents

Checked November 6, 2026: ETHFI has launched. The original Season 1 airdrop was a retrospective distribution, not an offer that a new deposit can unlock today. ETHFI is the protocol’s governance token; it is not the liquid staking receipt described in parts of our original 2023 guide. The current explanation below takes precedence over the archived instructions.

ETHFI airdrop: snapshot, eligibility and claim window

Ether.fi’s official ETHFI launch announcement records a Season 1 snapshot of March 15, 2024, at 00:01 UTC. Claims opened on March 18, 2024, with a 90-day claim window. That original window has elapsed. These dates describe the historical distribution, not a new claim deadline.

The official governance page says eligibility reflected contributions to the protocol, community and ecosystem over time. It identifies 6% of total ETHFI supply as the Season 1 allocation and currently lists 17.57% for user airdrops overall. The overall allocation is not an amount every wallet can claim, nor proof that a new campaign is open.

If you are checking an old wallet, use the address that participated in the relevant campaign. Buying ETHFI or depositing ETH now cannot change that wallet’s activity before the Season 1 snapshot. We have not verified a currently open claim for any individual wallet.

ETHFI, eETH, weETH and sETHFI: what is the difference?

TokenWhat it representsWhy it matters here
ETHFIEther.fi’s governance tokenThe token distributed in the ETHFI airdrop.
eETHEther.fi’s liquid staking tokenA staking position, distinct from an ETHFI allocation.
weETHThe wrapped version of eETHA transferable staking position; holding it is not proof of an unclaimed ETHFI reward.
sETHFIThe token received when staking ETHFIA separate ETHFI staking product, not a new airdrop claim.

Ether.fi’s weETH explanation identifies weETH as wrapped eETH. Its sETHFI guide explains that staking ETHFI produces sETHFI and earns variable rewards. Neither product should be confused with the expired Season 1 claim window. We do not quote an APY because rates change and rewards are not guaranteed.

How to check an ether.fi claim safely

  1. Start at ether.fi’s official website and use its app or support navigation to find information for the specific campaign. An old guide or search advert is not evidence that claims have reopened.
  2. Confirm the campaign name, eligible network, snapshot and deadline before connecting a wallet. Do not assume rules from one season apply to another.
  3. Check the participating address and any previous claim transaction. A zero allocation can require campaign-specific support; a new deposit does not repair historical eligibility.
  4. Read each wallet request. Never enter a recovery phrase or private key into a claim page, and reject unexplained token approvals. A request to transfer funds to “unlock” an allocation is a reason to stop and verify through official support.

Staking also exposes funds to smart-contract and validator risks, while exiting a position can involve waiting periods. Evaluate those risks separately from any possible incentive. For background, see our Ethereum guide and guide to stuck Ethereum transactions.

FAQ

Can I still claim the original ETHFI airdrop?

The announced Season 1 window was 90 days from March 18, 2024, so that window has passed. Check current official campaign notices for any separate distribution; this article does not confirm that one is open.

Does staking ETH now guarantee an ETHFI airdrop?

No. The original distribution used historical activity. Treat a new deposit as a staking decision, not a guaranteed token allocation. Any later incentive needs its own published eligibility rules.

Was ETHFI ever launched?

Yes. ETHFI is already the governance token, and ether.fi now documents staking it for sETHFI. The archived language below about a future launch is retained only as a record of the 2023 programme.

Are ether.fi points the same as ETHFI tokens?

No. A campaign’s points are not a wallet token balance or proof of a claimable amount. Use that campaign’s official allocation and claim rules rather than assuming a fixed points-to-token exchange rate.

Boxmining’s Take

The useful question has changed from “Will ether.fi launch a token?” to “Which campaign did my wallet qualify for, and is its claim window still open?” Start there. Depositing money to chase an old snapshot is not an airdrop strategy. Anyone considering staking today should be comfortable with the product’s risks even if no additional ETHFI distribution arrives.

Archived 2023 Early Adopter Programme guide

Historical text follows, preserved for reference. Its “currently,” “mid-April,” and May 2 launch references belong to the 2023 programme. Its statements that ETHFI is unlaunched, that tokenomics are unavailable, and that ETHFI is a liquid staking derivative are superseded by the verified explanation above. Asset lists, minimum deposits, points-reset rules, funding, audit and withdrawal claims below have not been revalidated as current terms. Do not follow these archived steps as a live claim procedure.

ether.fi is a liquid staking protocol that is currently conducting its Early Adopter Programme. Users who staked ETH on the platform can earn bonus points, which could translate to an airdrop once the token is launched. The snapshot will be taken in mid-April, so don’t miss it!

ether.fi ($ETHFI) Airdrop Step-by-Step Guide

Here’s how to receive the $ETHFI token airdrop:

  1. Connect your wallet to the ether.fi mainnet.
  2. Stake ETH or ETH-pegged assets.

See below for more in-depth details!

What is ether.fi?

ether.fi is a decentralized staking protocol that allows users to earn rewards by delegating staking to node operators. It is unique in that it is the only liquid staking protocol where stakers keep control of their keys while delegating staking to node operators and earning rewards. Users can deposit their ETH, wstETH, rETH, cbETH, sfrxETH into their Early Adopter Programme and earn rewards.

The project’s smart contracts have been audited by reputable blockchain security firms CertiK and Zellic. They have also implemented a bug bounty program to incentivize security researchers to find vulnerabilities in their smart contracts.

Project Funding

Ether.fi has completed a $5.3 million funding round co-led by investors North Island Ventures (NIV) and Chapter One. The funding will be used to hire more engineers for the team and pursue further partnerships in addition to its current relationships with node operators such as Kiln and Finoa.

Does ether.fi Have a Token?

Yes, ether.fi is planning to launch its liquid staking derivative token $ETHFI. It will also function as a governance tool for the community.

How to Get the $ETHFI Airdrop?

As part of the ether.fi Early Adopter Programme, users who have staked ETH on the platform can earn bonus points, which could translate to an airdrop once the token is launched. The snapshot will be taken mid-April. Here’s a step-by-step guide:
  1. Connect Your Wallet to ether.fi Connect your MetaMask or other supported wallets to the ether.fi mainnet. Make sure the page is on “Early Adopter”. You can see this on the top middle of the screen.
  2. Stake ETH or ETH-pegged Assets You can stake ETH, rETH, cbETH, wstETH or sfrxETH on their Early Adopter Pool to earn loyalty points. The deposit amount may not be lower than 0.1. Once ether.fi is fully launched, you will be able to migrate your deposit to EtherFi staking.

Loyalty points will help boost your staking rewards when ether.fi mainnet launches on 2nd May 2023.

When ether.fi mainnet launches on 2nd May 2023, your staking rewards will be increased if you decide to stake with them and have loyalty points. There may also be a potential for extra airdrop!

Keep in mind your points will reset after each deposit. You can withdraw at any time with no penalty, but you will lose your bonus points in doing so.

Airdrop Review

When reviewing an airdrop, there are several factors to consider. First, the likelihood the project will even do an airdrop in the first place. Then, to look at how many tokens the project intends to allocate towards airdrop campaigns, as well as the difficulty in participating in their airdrop. It is also important to look at the utility of the token so that there will be an actual use and purpose in participating in the airdrop in the first place. Finally, a factor to consider when reviewing an airdrop is whether the airdropped tokens are subject to any lockup period.

Likelihood of Airdrop: ether.fi is currently conducting its Early Adopter Programme. Users who have staked ETH on the platform can earn bonus points, which could potentially convert to an airdrop upon the token’s launch.

Airdropped Token Allocation: Their tokenomics is not yet available.

Airdrop Difficulty: All you have to do is stake ETH or ETH-pegged assets on the platform. Make sure you have enough ETH to cover gas fees.

Token Utility: $ETHFI is a liquid staking derivative token which also functions as a governance tool for the protocol.

Token Lockup: Their tokenomics is not yet available.
