Backpack provides a cryptocurrency exchange, a self-custodial wallet and products connected to the Solana ecosystem. This article originally covered Season 1 of the Backpack Points program.

2026 update: BP launched on Solana on March 23, 2026. Season 1 ended on May 29, 2025, and the later Season 4 and Epilogue phases also ended before the token generation event. The points-farming steps below are now a historical archive, not a current way to qualify for the original BP distribution.

Phishing warning: Backpack's exact official domains are backpack.exchange, learn.backpack.exchange and support.backpack.exchange. Search results include a lookalike site falsely presenting itself as a Backpack token support portal. Do not connect to it. Backpack's official guide directs eligible users to backpack.exchange/bp-claim after signing in on desktop. Never enter a seed phrase on a claim page.

If the official page shows no allocation, do not pay anyone to “fix” eligibility. Backpack's March 2026 claim guide says the Mad Lads allocation required the wallet that held the NFT at the snapshot to be linked to the account.

What is Backpack?

Backpack is a cryptocurrency platform offering an exchange for spot and derivatives trading and a self-custodial wallet for managing digital assets. Its founders also created the Mad Lads NFT collection on Solana. Product availability, account verification and supported regions vary, so the former “150+ countries” and transaction-count claims should not be treated as current.

The Backpack ecosystem announced a US$17 million Series A in 2024 at a US$120 million combined valuation. Together with its earlier US$20 million strategic round, this brought reported funding to US$37 million. Series A participants included Placeholder VC, Hashed, Robot Ventures, Amber Group, Wintermute, Jump Crypto and others. These are historical financing figures, not a current company valuation.

Current product note: Auto-Lend remains available for eligible USD balances, but it is now described as a lending/yield feature rather than a passive Season 1 points task. Lending, derivatives, exchange custody and stablecoins all involve loss, counterparty and access risks.

The following steps preserve what users did during the 2025 program. They do not earn retroactive Season 1 eligibility, and repeatedly trading or moving funds now cannot change a closed snapshot.

Time needed: 15 minutes

Here is the original strategy for the potential Backpack token airdrop.

  1. Sign up

Participants created a Backpack Exchange account and completed the required identity verification. The original referral link has been replaced with the neutral Backpack homepage. Supported regions change; check the official list before applying and do not evade restrictions.

  2. Deposit funds

Participants deposited supported assets such as USDT, USDC, SOL, ETH or BTC. Exchange deposits use real funds and involve custody, network-selection and counterparty risks.

  3. Enable auto-lend

The original guide suggested enabling Auto-Lend to earn points on idle balances. Auto-Lend remains a financial product, but the Season 1 points reason is expired. Lending rates are variable and funds are not risk-free.

  4. Increase trading volume

The original strategy emphasized spot and futures volume. Backpack intentionally kept exact points criteria opaque and reserved the right to adjust distributions. Frequent small trades were never guaranteed to outperform one larger trade and created repeated fees and loss exposure.

  5. Use trading strategies to maximise trading activity

The former suggestion to trade SOL/USDC repeatedly or use 1–2x leverage is not a low-risk farming method. Spot prices can fall, and even low-leverage derivatives add liquidation, funding and execution risk. The points phase is over.

  6. BONUS: Get 2 airdrops in 1!

Using Backpack Wallet for an unrelated Solana campaign did not guarantee either a Backpack reward or a second airdrop. Wallet choice alone is generally not an eligibility criterion unless a project expressly says so.

  7. Deposit and withdraw tokens

The original guide suggested deposits and withdrawals might contribute to points. Moving funds solely to appear active creates network, address and operational risk and cannot affect a closed season.

  8. Check progress

Users viewed points and ranks in the platform. Backpack's support page says distributions occurred Fridays at 02:00 UTC based on activity ending Thursday at 00:00 UTC—not 14:00 UTC as the old article stated.

  9. Beware of bans

Backpack applied sybil analysis and later said more than 50 million inauthentically earned points were reclaimed for the Epilogue. Multiple accounts, self-referrals or artificial activity could be excluded.

BP allocation and staking

Backpack states that 250 million BP—25% of the one-billion supply—entered circulation at TGE. Points participants received 240 million BP (24% of supply), while eligible Mad Lads holders received 10 million BP (1%). Backpack says there was no public presale and founders, employees and investors had no direct token allocation at TGE.

BP can be staked through Backpack's Participant Program for fee tiers and other platform benefits. Backpack's current guide also describes a potential path for eligible long-term stakers to purchase or exchange into company equity, subject to a minimum staking period, program rules, licensing, regulatory approvals and applicable law. This is not the same as BP automatically representing company shares.

The initial airdrop allocation was automatically staked after claim. Backpack's first-week instant exit window has passed; its current guide says unstaking now has a seven-day cooldown. Unstaking can reset equity-program progress for that position. Token price can move during the cooldown, and staking does not protect principal.

Frequently asked questions

Did the Backpack token launch?

Yes. BP launched on Solana on March 23, 2026. Its official contract is BPxxfRCXkUVhig4HS1Lh7kZqV6SPJhzfEk4x6fVBjPCy.

Is Backpack Season 1 still active?

No. Season 1 ran from March 21 to May 29, 2025. Season 4 and the final Epilogue phase also ended before the March 2026 TGE.

How much BP went to points holders?

Backpack allocated 240 million BP, or 24% of total supply, to points participants. Another 10 million BP, or 1%, was allocated to eligible Mad Lads holders.

Where is the official Backpack BP claim page?

Backpack's official guide directs users to backpack.exchange/bp-claim after logging in on desktop. Do not use a different root domain, even if it copies Backpack's branding.

Can I still earn the original BP airdrop by trading?

No. New trading cannot retroactively add points to the completed pre-TGE seasons. Backpack may run other campaigns, but those have their own terms and should not be confused with the original BP distribution.

Does one point equal a fixed amount of BP?

Do not assume a universal one-to-one conversion. Allocations depended on the program's distribution process and account eligibility. Check only the amount displayed inside the official claim page.

Does staked BP represent Backpack equity?

No. BP itself is a utility token, not a share. Backpack describes a separate, conditional program through which certain qualifying long-term stakers may be able to acquire company equity, subject to eligibility, approvals and terms.

Is BP staking risk-free?

No. BP can lose market value, staking has a cooldown, program benefits can change and exchange, custody, legal and operational risks remain.

Which countries can use Backpack Exchange?

Availability changes. Backpack's support page currently lists regions it does not serve and regions that remain unavailable. Check that page and complete the platform's own verification; do not use a VPN to evade restrictions.
