Glacier Network airdrop status in 2026
The Glacier Network community airdrop is over. Glacier launched its native GLS token on 18 December 2024, then converted qualifying campaign rewards into GLS. The official airdrop announcement was later updated with a claim deadline of 31 January 2025 at 10:00 UTC.
The old GLC balance in this guide was a pre-mainnet campaign reward, not the final native token. Glacier set the conversion at 1 GLC = 5 GLS. It also converted weighted campaign points and eligible NFTs under separate rules. Creating datasets or using the old referral link now does not reopen the expired claim.

What changed from GLC to GLS?
Glacier used GLC rewards and points across early Arweave, BNB Greenfield, referral and testnet campaigns. When it announced the final airdrop in December 2024, the project selected GLS as the mainnet token ticker and calculated eligible rewards using these published conversions:
- 1 GLC = 5 GLS
- 1 weighted campaign point = 1 GLS
- 1 eligible NFT = 1 GLS
Campaign points were weighted by season, and Glacier applied anti-bot filtering. If a wallet participated in multiple activities, the announcement said only its highest-scoring activity would be used. These were historical distribution rules, not a standing exchange rate that can still be redeemed.
GLS tokenomics and utility
Glacier's published tokenomics allocated the one-billion-token supply across angel, pre-seed, seed, public-sale, node-reward, team/adviser, ecosystem/treasury and community categories. It described 118.5 million GLS as initially circulating. The later airdrop roadmap described 6% of supply as ecosystem and community rewards: 5% for technical ecosystem participation and 1% for community growth.
The intended GLS uses include staking and governance, operating or supporting nodes, paying network transaction and data-service fees, accessing GlacierAI, GlacierDB and GlacierDA, and rewarding data or application contributions. These uses do not guarantee demand, price appreciation or a return from running a node.
What is Glacier Network now?
Glacier now describes itself as a programmable, modular data-centric blockchain for AI agents, models and datasets. Its product stack includes GlacierAI for AI data and vector-database workloads, GlacierDB for decentralized databases, and GlacierDA for data availability and offchain verification.
The current site labels the network “Mainnet Alpha” and is recruiting verifier nodes. It distinguishes verifier nodes, which check worker proofs and network integrity, from worker roles such as data-availability, trusted-execution-environment and indexer nodes. Node participation can require technical work, token exposure and a licence; it should not be confused with the free 2024 database campaign.
How to verify GLS safely
- Start from glacier.io or the project's established official account.
- Confirm that the network is Base and the contract is

- Review token approvals and transaction simulation before signing.
- Use a separate wallet with only the assets needed for the intended action.
- Research node licence, delegation, lockup and reward conditions independently before committing GLS.

- Expired-claim risk: the official community claim deadline has passed.

Will Glacier Network ($GLC) do a token airdrop?
Glacier Network have confirmed they will do an airdrop. They are currently running a campaign that allows users to claim an On-chain Achievement Token (OAT) and potentially receive an airdrop. Glacier Network will also be integrating Celestia as their modular network. Therefore, there is a chance that Celestia $TIA stakers may also be rewarded with $GLC tokens.

- Create a Glacier dataset On the same window, click “Create dataset”. Give it a unique name and click “OK” and sign the transaction. Then click on your newly created dataset and complete the name and field sections. Remember to click the check mark next to the description section as this is the node you will be adding, then click the “+” button. Fill in 2 lines.
As you will need to insert 2 documents in step 4 below, you need to repeat this step to create a total of 2 datasets. - Invite friends Invite your friends using your referral link. Note that your invitees also need to create a dataset and insert 2 documents.
- Complete Galxe quests Go to the Glacier Network Galxe Questpage and complete the tasks. These are mostly social tasks. Remember to claim your OAT!
Glacier Network airdrop review
When reviewing an airdrop, there are several factors to consider. First, the likelihood the project will even do an airdrop in the first place.
