Puma and NBA star LaMelo Ball are collaborating with Web3 brand GutterCat Gang for an NFT sneaker collection. On June 29th, the “GutterMelo MB.03” digital sneaker collection will be available for purchase on the OpenSea marketplace. The sneakers are part of LaMelo’s partnership with Puma for his fashion collaboration.

The NFT sneaker collection aims to usher in a “new era” for hoops apparel and fashion. Enthusiastic buyers and collectors will have the opportunity to purchase the GutterMelo MB.03 sneakers for $175 and will also receive a physical counterpart to showcase in real life. According to the release, the collaboration integrates web3 technology and digital collectibles while empowering hoopers to express their unique style both on the court and online.

The sneaker is the third release to Ball’s fashion collaboration with Puma. The shoe has a customized colorful “heat map” effect that displays the names of collaborators on the tongue and heel. It also features GutterCat Gang imagery to add to its distinctiveness. The GutterCat Gang is an NFT project that launched in June 2021, offering 3,000 cat-themed avatars.

Basketball and NFT Drops: Increasing Trend in the Industry

NFT-based drops are on the rise in the basketball space. The project is exclusive to Day One NFT mint pass holders and has generated 773 ETH in sales. Adidas followed with its series of NFTs connected to its Into the Metaverse Web3 ecosystem.

His 3,100-piece collection draws inspiration from vintage pieces in Wotherspoon’s personal archive.
